About

Laurent Sautet est né en 1971 à Lyon et vit actuellement à Paris. Sous le pseudonyme Ambre, il crée sa propre revue Hard Luck en 1991 et la maison d’édition Terre Noire en 1997. Son premier ouvrage de bande dessinée paraît en 1996 et il publie de nombreux récits dans les revues Le cheval sans tête, Jade... et participe au collectif Comix 2000 de l’Association. Il adapte Une trop bruyante solitude de Bohumil Hrabal en 2003 avec Lionel Tran et le Faust de Goethe en 2006 avec David Vandermeulen. Ambre expose régulièrement ses peintures dans des galeries et des festivals internationaux. Il est par ailleurs Bibliothécaire à la Bibliothèque nationale de France. Pour le projet La Passion des Anabaptistes, il décide d’étudier la gravure allemande de la Renaissance et radicalise son approche de la bande dessinée.

Ce blog constitue une galerie virtuelle, une bibliothèque proposant de visualiser en haute définition ses travaux graphiques hors du champ de la bande dessinée : illustrations, peintures, recherches personnelles...

Laurent Sautet was born in Lyon in 1971 and currently lives in Paris. Under the pseudonym Ambre, he created his own magazine Hard Luck in 1991 and the publishing house Terre Noire in 1997. His first work of comics was published in 1996. He participated in collective Comix 2000 of l’Association. He adapted Too Loud a Solitude by Bohumil Hrabal in 2003 with Lionel Tran and Goethe's Faust in 2006 with David Vandermeulen. Ambre exhibited his paintings in galleries and international festivals. He is also Librarian at the National Library of France. For the project The Passion of the Anabaptists, he decides to study the woodcuts & etchings of the German Renaissance and to radicalize his approach of comics.

This blog is a virtual gallery, a sort of library offering a view in high definition of his graphic works outside the scope of the comic book: illustrations, paintings, personal research ...
